ROBERT B. STAPLES, PSY.D. Dr. Staples received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Haverford College and his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Hahnemann University. He worked as a Staff Psychologist at the Child Psychiatry Center at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children for eight years and has been associated with GKSW/Crystal Group Associates since 1980 (as a Partner since 1990.) He is a Licensed Psychologist, a Certified School Psychologist and has served on the Board of Directors of The Family Institute of Philadelphia, Parents’ Network (where he has trained as a Parenting Educator) and Specialists of Schools. In his clinical practice Dr. Staples works with all ages, providing family, couple, and individual psychotherapy. He utilizes his long-standing interests in both psychodynamic and systems orientations and remains open to integrating aspects of other approaches that may be of help. One of his areas of interest is in the systems approach to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders such as ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Asperger’s Disorder. Dr. Staples provides Psychological and Psycho-Educational evaluation services. He has been the School Psychologist at Plymouth Meeting Friends School since 1994. His school-based skills include consultation to teachers, administrators and parents, and conducting groups in special education and mainstream classrooms.
Dr. Staples' other areas of interest include the provision of psychosocial
services to victims of catastrophic injuries (e.g., Traumatic Brain
Injury) and the application of his knowledge of psychology and human
systems in business settings. He is bilingual, and can provide
psychotherapy and testing services in Spanish. |
