CATHERINE WELSH, MSW, LCSW Catherine Welsh provides psychotherapy to individuals of all ages. Some of her areas of clinical interest include: trauma recovery, depression, grief, anxiety, eating disorders, school-related social/behavioral issues, and phase of life transitions. She has facilitated social skill development groups for children and adolescents. With children, Catherine utilizes creative modalities, such as art and play therapy, to foster expression and encourage the development of the therapeutic relationship. Her approach is psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy. Catherine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In 1988, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy from Capital University in Columbus, OH. She was awarded her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1993. In addition to the private psychotherapy practice she established in Chicago, Catherine was employed in a variety of settings prior to her relocation to this area.
